Haragushi: I thought these were called 'gohei', and WWWJDIC agrees...

ok, CR clarified that it's a misspelling of "haraigushi", but "gohei" seems to be the more common term -7HS

Mikos are not priestesses. -Kaorin

Well, what are they? Moogy (talk) 12:07, 5 March 2007 (PST)
Altar girls. -7HS
Surely they are also... ahem... jinja warriors ?

Futo and Yorihime

Is Mononobe no Futo a former shrine maiden? I never seen that in any of the official literature and it doesn't say on her wiki page. Also, I don't think that Watatsuki no Yorihime is a shrine maiden, it's that she just has the power to use the power of gods. Towhoweditor (talk) 03:52, 1 April 2022 (UTC)

Futo isn't a former shrine maiden, not even mentioned on her omake. Also when is Yorihime a shrine maiden? Privetgator (talk) 04:14, 1 April 2022 (UTC)

I'm going to edit both of their names out until someone else proves that they are/were shrine maidens. Towhoweditor (talk) 14:46, 1 April 2022 (UTC)

Well yes they're indeed shrine maidens, my bad. Futo was shrine maiden on her TD profile and Yorihime got mentioned as a shrine maiden in SSiB Privetgator (talk) 20:01, 1 April 2022 (UTC)

Sanae

Isn't Sanae technically not a miko, not being Shinto and all?

Why do you say she is not Shinto? ZUN has stated in an interview that the Moriya cult was based off the Suwa cult, which is a Shinto one. Also, Kanako is very clearly a Shinto god, with her shimenawa rope and onbashira logs.--Nietz 16:38, 8 April 2008 (PDT)
