Template

The template is basically for categorization purposes so far in case we suddenly want to change the naming scheme (Doujin Circle/Arrange). Any further improvements can be built on it. --Tsukihime 17:51, 1 March 2011 (UTC)

Speaking of the circle pages, I was wondering if it wouldn't be more convenient to just name the pages by the circle's official (Japanese) names? Or both the translated and Japanese name (but which one goes first?) I know I read a discussion about using their romanized names somewhere but I still think it's handier to have the circle's page named after its official name. Redirects can always help if one's looking with just romaji, right? And I actually think a lot of people use the kanji names (copy/pasting from youtube etc). Both are equally important imo.
So... I suggest the Romaji (Kanji) format. ie Sekkenya (石鹸屋).
I'm also wondering about it in the Album Templates - I think we should have both names on there too in the same format. I've already done it with Sekkenya's template... but I'd like it if both 'Sekkenya' and '(石鹸屋)' were part of the link, if only to reflect the page title. Mizutori 14:22, 4 March 2011 (PST)
Currently I have linked the pages after their official name in the circle portal template. We can easily change the scheme to romaji (kanji) as well (SOME pages may have to be renamed, but there aren't that many right now) so that any new ones will automatically be created as such.
The romanization was mainly to provide readers the ability to actually refer to what they're talking about as well as save them the effort of having to open up the document that they saved the name in and copy paste. I might like a group, but I might not know how to say their name. Or type it. Hence the reason why I pushed for romanizations where possible. But yes, both are equally important and would both be recorded.
For the album nav templates, that shouldn't be a problem as well, but you should ask WGH as he has a bot to deal with those --Tsukihime 15:09, 4 March 2011 (PST)
Okidoki! I'll rename them as I tackle them. :> Mizutori 15:29, 4 March 2011 (PST)
I've updated the circle list template. If you update a circle page and happen to notice that there are no links to it from the list (whatlinkshere), make the necessary edits to the spreadsheet (located in Circle Page discussion) so it would be easier to keep track of changes as well as keep a master copy of the info somewhere that can be easily exported. --Tsukihime 18:00, 5 March 2011 (UTC)

Hmm it seems pretty difficult to add refer to circle names. Maybe we really should just stick to one or the other, but not both. --Tsukihime 14:55, 17 March 2011 (UTC)

Naming scheme

Proposed changes to naming scheme for circle pages:

  • "Primary" article name will be the english/romanized name (ie: wiki/sekkenya
  • The japanese name will contain a re-direct to the primary page (ie: 石鹸屋)

All names will be indicated on the circle page.

It would also be easier to type the name when creating links. --Tsukihime 13:57, 2 May 2011 (UTC)

That's not only typing issue. The primary language for this wiki is English, after all. --WGH 14:03, 2 May 2011 (UTC)
