The Genius of Sappheiros/Walkthrough/Stage 9

Eientei (outside)

If you have not recruited Mokou yet, she will join your party at the beginning of this stage.

This stage requires you to split your party into two - The first group will be heading right, while the second group will be heading left. It is recommended that you put your magic attackers in the first group and your physical attackers in the second. You will not be able to change your party member's equipment once inside, so make sure they're all adaquately equipped before entering.

The first party will face mostly enemies with high defense or resistance to physical elements, and an elemental weakness, so your magic attacker will be able to dispose of them quickly. The bamboo monsters can deliver very powerful blows after raising its stats by "growing up", so make use of their fire elemental weakness and kill them quickly. Nothing else in this side is very threatening, although note that the carriage thing has physical reflection, so don't use physical attacks on it. As for maneuvering, they will mostly traverse the outside of the building. There are some hidden passages hidden by the roof of the building or by the trees, but overall it's not too hard to go through and find all the chests on the way.

The second party will face mostly normal enemies. None of them are made specially easy for physical attackers (although Sakuya with her third-tier sword can kill half of everything here in one hit due slayer), but the sword wielding catepillar-like thing has magic reflection, and the floating heads can interrupt casting of magic, so physical attackers are still better here than magical attackers. Also, beware the multi-armed sword wielders, as they sometimes get two turns and can do a lot of damage, and if you meet a lot of them at once it may be better to run. Terrain-wise, they will travel mostly inside the building. There are some hidden passages hidden in walls, although they can be found by the patterns of folding walls. There are also a chest or two hidden behind said folding walls. Aside from that, there is an "infinite corridor" puzzle they must solve inside the dungeon. There are really only five doors leading up and five leading down in the corridor, with one of the door leading up having two decorations outside it. There is a chest in the area if you keep heading up from the door with decorations, as well as a hint, indicating that the player must go through a certain door (with decorations) in order to exit the maze. To advance from the corridor, head down towards the first door placed to the right of the door with the column decorations, then head straight down for the next two rooms, and you'll be outside. Hit the switch located down the way and head back that room, and you will be in the room with the teleporter and magic circle.

Halfway through the dungeon in each route, there is a button - having both of your party standing the button on each side will activate a teleporter. There are two more buttons near the two magic circles that must both be pressed to activate the teleporter to the magic circles as well. You may want to use this opportunity to switch your party around before facing the bosses.

Boss: Tewi Inaba and Reisen Udongein Inaba

Tewi's HP: 10000 Reisen's HP: 10000

The first team will fight Tewi while the second team will fight Reisen. Whichever steps to the end of the dungeon first will be fighting the boss first.

Tewi features an extremely powerful all targeting nuke attack with very bad accuracy that she will only use after a Concentrate Power. If you lower her accuracy via debuffs and raise your own avoidability with Sanae or by using the Kappa Camouflage formation, she will hardly ever hit you, although if she lands a hit on someone, that character will likely be 1HKO'd, so you may want to have Sanae equip her revival spell as well as setting Mokou as your commander. She gets 2 actions per turn and also loves to put your party to sleep. She has no weaknesses, but no particular resistance to anything either except Dark, so you can use whatever attack you want to bring her down. Note that she can raise her own accuracy as well, and when that happens it's best to dispel it as soon as possible (Sanae can do this, as well as the 13 Staff skill). Her nuke is of Light element, but even with a Light shield and Alice spamming Parrar it will probably deal too much damage anyway.

Reisen features attacks that are less powerful, but are much more accurate and can inflict Berserk and Sleep. In addition, she gets two acts per turn and her attacks ARE powerful enough that a party at their high 20s will have problem surviving without help. Setting your formation in a row as well as having Alice using Marionette Parrar along with a shield that can defend against Strike attacks can be a great help in mitigating the damage, as well as having Reimu for party-wide heal and status clearing in one turn (she will need full 25 points in her Border tree for her heals to have a range of Spread), just make sure Reimu has good protection against Berserk, as Reisen has moderately high IND so stacking RES would be less effective than accesories that give her a chance to flat out ignore the status. Byakuren can also help a lot by debilitating Reisen, making her attacks much more manageable. She also has no weakness, or resistances to anything except Light.

Note:

  • You only need Sakuya, Byakuren, and a tank for the fight against Reisen. Equip Sakuya with her 3rd tier sword and put as much skill points as possible in the 2 handed-sword skill tree and the Time Stop skill tree. When Reisen uses her bomb charge, have Sakuya to use private square along with Aya's 3 bomb commander skill. Sakuya can spam 二段斬り, she'll deal at least 1000 per hit.
  • Reisen can be poisoned.
