Description of Stats and Attributes

HP - measures how much damage the unit can take. When reduced to zero, the unit is removed from play.
Cost - how much it costs to keep the unit in play. The current and maximum costs are displayed to the left of the Map Level, on the bottom right of the screen.
Attack - how much damage the unit causes with its basic attack. A sword indicates the attack deals physical damage, while a blue sparkle indicates the attack deals magical damage.
Spell - how much damage the unit causes with its spell attack. A sword indicates the spell deals physical damage, while a blue sparkle indicates the spell deals magical damage.
Movement - how many spaces the unit can move each turn, if not blocked by obstacles or other units. A unit may not have more than 9 movement.
Range - how many spaces away the unit can initiate combat with its basic attack. A unit may not have more than 9 attack range. Eirin is an exception to this rule.
Spell Range - how many spaces away the unit can initiate combat with its spell attack. A unit may not have more than 9 spell range.
Defense - reduces damage taken from physical sources. The minimum damage is always 1 even if the defense is superior to the damage.
Resist - reduces damage taken from magical sources. The minimum damage is always 1 even if the defense is superior to the damage.
Talent - measures how much experience the unit requires for each level up. From least to most, S A B C D X.
Evasion - measures how frequently the unit negates attacks against it. From most often to least often, S A B C D X. Rank X still avoids attacks.
Critical - measures how often the unit scores a critical hit. Critical hits cause 20% additional damage and ignore defenses. A unit may not have more than 99% Critical.
Throw/Relocate - if triggered, the unit can move the enemy to any other square on the playing field after attacking. A unit may not have more than 99% Throw.
AoE - measures how often the unit attacks in an area. AoE attacks also hit targets adjacent and diagonal to the original target (a bigger square). A unit may not have more than 99% AoE. Spells cannot trigger AoE.
Extra/Dual - after attacking, the unit has a chance to be able to move and attack again. A unit may not have more than 99% Extra.
Counter - after being attacked, the unit has a chance to attack the unit that attacked it. Counter attacks ignore how close or far away the target may be. A unit may not have more than 99% Counter.
Inventory Space - the total number of squares in the character's inventory. The width of the item field is always 8 squares.
The damage formula for a non-critical attack is simply the attack stat minus the relevant defensive stat.
A character with a special ability cannot perform Criticals, Throws, AoE, Extras, or Counters.

For an in depth look at relative character stats with talent taken into consideration, see the analysis subpage.

Essential Characters

Yukari Yakumo

Fugyouseki Yukari.png
While Yukari is not actually a playable character, she is still very important due to the fact that if she falls asleep, you lose.
  • Gives helpful information when the party encounters a new type of enemy on the main map.
  • HP= 5
  • Opens gaps for the party to progress through the game.
  • Can only be damaged by close range attacks or Sheep.
  • Health cannot be recovered.
  • When reduced to 0 HP, the field level is turned back 3 levels and the game resets with a new group of enemies on the field and all characters ready to deploy.
  • Finding a new gap after a Game Over won't be possible until you return to the field level you were previously at.

Defense4 (2) Resist4 (1)
HP28 (21) TalentB EvasionB
Critical2%Throw 2%AoE6%Extra4%Counter4%

Reimu is an incredible unit with high growth in all stats, and boasting the second highest normal attack growth. She can be built in a variety of ways, and her only drawback is her high cost.

Marisa Kirisame

Fugyouseki Marisa.png Marisa Kirisame
Inventory size108 Cost per level1.5
Attack17 (11) P Movement3 Range1
Spell18 (15) M Spell Range3
Defense5 (5) Resist4 (3)
HP25 (17) TalentC EvasionD
Critical14%Throw 0%AoE0%Extra0%Counter4%

Marisa is an incredible tank that can easily reduce the damage of most enemies down to 1. Despite being slow and having low normal attack growth, she makes up for it by having the highest critical chance ratio.

Sanae Kochiya

Fugyouseki Sanae.png Sanae Kochiya
Inventory size96 Cost per level1.5
Attack15 (13) M Movement4 Range2
Spell16 (16) M Spell Range3
Defense4 (1) Resist5 (2)
HP26 (17) TalentB EvasionB
Critical2%Throw 0%AoE0%Extra6%Counter6%

Sanae is a very modest in stats, easily representing a fairly balanced unit of her cost. She has no particular focus, meaning that her only real weakness is being unable to deal physical damage.

Sakuya Izayoi

Fugyouseki Sakuya.png Sakuya Izayoi
Inventory size96 Cost per level1.5
Attack19 (10) P Movement3 Range3
Spell21 (13) P Spell Range5
Defense3 (2) Resist6 (1)
HP24 (15) TalentA EvasionA
Critical4%Throw 2%AoE2%Extra6%Counter2%

Sakuya tends to be invaluable early-on due to her incredible range, but will begin falling off due to her low normal attack growth. Thankfully, her A talent makes it easy to level her up, and she has a solid base in all additional effects.

Youmu Konpaku

Fugyouseki Youmu.png Youmu Konpaku
Inventory size99 Cost per level2
Attack21 (14) P Movement4 Range1
Spell26 (19) M Spell Range1
Defense4 (2) Resist4 (2)
HP22 (20) TalentB EvasionB
Critical4%Throw 8%AoE0%Extra2%Counter2%

Youmu has excellent growth in all categories, and is overall an exemplary unit. She is part of trio of units with the highest spell attack damage growth. She is quite costly, though, and her range is her main weakness.

Recruitable Characters

Rumia

Fugyouseki Rumia.png Rumia
Inventory size94 Cost per level1
Attack16 (8) M Movement2 Range4
Spell17 (9) M Spell Range6
Defense2 (1) Resist3 (1)
HP19 (12) TalentD EvasionA
Critical8%Throw 0%AoE0%Extra2%Counter4%

Rumia's poor attack growth can seem like a hurdle, but she excels at picking off weak enemies with her very high range. Unfortunately, her D talent strongly hurts this usefulness, without piling in her low movement and HP growth.

Cirno

Fugyouseki Cirno.png Cirno
Inventory size99 Cost per level1
Attack9 (13) M Movement4 Range1
Spell9 (15) M Spell Range3
Defense9 (2) Resist9 (2)
HP9 (16) TalentC EvasionC
Critical0%Throw 6%AoE0%Extra0%Counter8%

Cirno is a an exemplary cheap unit. Her early stats are a bit hurt by the perpetuation of a meme, but she boasts highly in all growth. Her real weakness is her C talent and somewhat mediocre range.

Hong Meiling

Fugyouseki Meiling.png Hong Meiling
Inventory size91 Cost per level1.5
Attack18 (13) P Movement4 Range1
Spell20 (16) P Spell Range2
Defense4 (3) Resist1 (1)
HP19 (18) TalentD EvasionA
Critical10%Throw 4%AoE0%Extra0%Counter0%

Meiling has decent growths in all categories, and is incredibly flexible in how to be built, but her D talent makes it gradually more difficult to level her up.

Patchouli Knowledge

Fugyouseki Patchouli.png Patchouli Knowledge
Inventory size89 Cost per level1.5
Attack16 (12) M Movement3 Range3
Spell18 (13) M Spell Range4
Defense1 (1) Resist4 (4)
HP17 (14) TalentB EvasionD
Critical2%Throw 0%AoE10%Extra2%Counter0%

Patchouli is somewhat frail, but has decent damage growths, and a very good chance to do AoE attacks on a very long range.

Remilia Scarlet

Fugyouseki Remilia.png Remilia Scarlet
Inventory size94 Cost per level2.5
Attack20 (14) P Movement5 Range1
Spell24 (17) M Spell Range3
Defense2 (2) Resist4 (2)
HP19 (13) TalentC EvasionS
Critical4%Throw 2%AoE2%Extra8%Counter0%

Remilia is an incredibly expensive unit, coming up at 2.5 cost, but her growths in every category is high, save for her HP, which is somewhat mediocre. Even with this, she is fast, has plenty of additional effects, and great mixed damage.

Flandre Scarlet

Fugyouseki Flandre.png Flandre Scarlet
Inventory size90 Cost per level2.5
Attack24 (15) P Movement3 Range1
Spell26 (19) M Spell Range1
Defense3 (2) Resist3 (1)
HP20 (20) TalentD EvasionC
While on the field, all allies have their critical hit rate increased by 10%.

Like her sister, Flandre is a very expensive unit, but unlike her sister, her HP growth is very good. Her main weakness is her obtuse range, her slow movement, and her terrible talent. Despite this, she makes up with a great passive, allowing most of her allies to land critical hits often.

Letty Whiterock

Fugyouseki Letty.png Letty Whiterock
Inventory size94 Cost per level1
Attack18 (13) M Movement4 Range1
Spell20 (14) M Spell Range2
Defense3 (2) Resist3 (1)
HP24 (19) TalentA EvasionC
Critical6%Throw 0%AoE0%Extra4%Counter4%

Letty has a great A talent and high HP growth, quickly becoming a meat shield, without mentioning how inexpensive of a unit she is. She is a great all-rounder unit, even having a solid amount of damage.

Chen

Fugyouseki Chen.png Chen
Inventory size85 Cost per level1
Attack17 (12) P Movement6 Range1
Spell19 (13) P Spell Range3
Defense1 (1) Resist3 (1)
HP19 (14) TalentD EvasionS
Critical6%Throw 0%AoE0%Extra6%Counter2%

Chen's D talent makes it difficult to level her up, but with her incredibly base movement of 6, she becomes invaluable in maze-like stages that require quick moves. She is otherwise difficult to keep in play, with mediocre health, no defenses, and somewhat mediocre attacks.

Alice Margatroid

Fugyouseki Alice.png Alice Margatroid
Inventory size118 Cost per level1
Attack13 (10) P Movement3 Range2
Spell15 (12) P Spell Range4
Defense6 (4) Resist5 (3)
HP16 (16) TalentS EvasionC
Critical2%Throw 0%AoE6%Extra2%Counter6%

Alice is another tank, just like Marisa. Her defenses are only slightly worse than Marisa's, but her S rank talent and 1 cost per level mean that her stats will be higher for equivalent costs.

Lunasa Prismriver

Fugyouseki Lunasa.png Lunasa Prismriver
Inventory size96 Cost per level1.5
Attack19 (13) M Movement4 Range2
Spell20 (14) M Spell Range3
Defense2 (2) Resist2 (2)
HP26 (14) TalentC EvasionC
Critical0%Throw 2%AoE6%Extra4%Counter2%

Lunasa is a very similar unit to Cirno, with the same talent, and only slightly worse HP and spell attack growth. She is more expensive, but has higher range than Cirno, to compensate.

Merlin Prismriver

Fugyouseki Merlin.png Merlin Prismriver
Inventory size90 Cost per level1.5
Attack15 (11) M Movement2 Range2
Spell17 (12) M Spell Range3
Defense1 (1) Resist1 (1)
HP15 (11) TalentD EvasionA
While on the field, Increases movement of units by 1

Merlin has a terrible talent and overall growth, making her difficult to keep in play, but her special effect can be game-changing with the right kinds of units.

Lyrica Prismriver

Fugyouseki Lyrica.png Lyrica Prismriver
Inventory size91 Cost per level1.5
Attack15 (9) M Movement2 Range5
Spell18 (10) M Spell Range7
Defense1 (1) Resist4 (4)
HP18 (11) TalentB EvasionC
Critical0%Throw 4%AoE0%Extra10%Counter0%

Lyrica is, essentially, a more expensive Rumia- more expensive to keep in play, but with higher range, attack and spell growths, and a very high resistance growth, allowing her to trivialize stages that require high resistance or range.

Yuyuko Saigyouji

Fugyouseki Yuyuko.png Yuyuko Saigyouji
Inventory size102 Cost per level2
Attack17 (12) M Movement3 Range4
Spell19 (13) M Spell Range5
Defense3 (4) Resist4 (1)
HP22 (15) TalentC EvasionC
Critical6%Throw 4%AoE0%Extra0%Counter6%

Yuyuko is the most expensive tank in the game, but has decent attack growths, and incredible base range, making her both useful in close combat and at range.

Ran Yakumo

Fugyouseki Ran.png Ran Yakumo
Inventory size98 Cost per level1.5
Attack19 (12) P Movement4 Range1
Spell20 (13) M Spell Range2
Defense3 (2) Resist3 (1)
HP20 (15) TalentB EvasionA
Critical2%Throw 0%AoE0%Extra14%Counter0%

Ran is a simple unit with the highest extra in the game. While she does suffer from mediocre damage, she has access to both physical and magical damage, slightly adding to her utility. She, also, isn't too expensive to keep.

Wriggle Nightbug

Fugyouseki Wriggle.png Wriggle Nightbug
Inventory size100 Cost per level1
Attack15 (13) P Movement3 Range1
Spell16 (14) P Spell Range2
Defense3 (2) Resist4 (2)
HP21 (16) TalentA EvasionB
Critical0%Throw 4%AoE0%Extra0%Counter10%

Wriggle is a very solid unit with good growths in her attacks and a decent chance to counter. She is a solid unit with an A talent that is easy to keep in play.

Mystia Lorelei

Fugyouseki Mystia.png Mystia Lorelei
Inventory size85 Cost per level0.5
Attack13 (10) M Movement3 Range1
Spell14 (12) M Spell Range2
Defense1 (1) Resist5 (3)
HP16 (8) TalentS EvasionC
Enemies are more likely to target Mystia if possible.

Mystia will always be targeted by enemies, which may not entirely be good, seeing her low HP growth- but she can still help weaker units or Shikigami reach their goal safely.. When not targeted directly, she does have trouble making her mark, with low damage, movement, and range. Despite this, she does has a deceptively good resistance growth, and her good S rank can allow her to be slightly over-leveled.

Keine Kamishirasawa

Fugyouseki Keine.png Keine Kamishirasawa
Inventory size98 Cost per level1.5
Attack17 (13) P Movement4 Range1
Spell19 (15) M Spell Range3
Defense2 (1) Resist3 (2)
HP16 (15) TalentD EvasionD
Critical0%Throw 14%AoE0%Extra0%Counter0%

Keine is a solid unit with average growths, but her tendency toward throw additional effects tends to hurt her usefulness, especially when piled up with her bad D talent.

Tewi Inaba

Fugyouseki Tewi.png Tewi Inaba
Inventory size102 Cost per level1.5
Attack10 (12) P Movement4 Range1
Spell12 (17) P Spell Range2
Defense3 (2) Resist2 (1)
HP26 (22) TalentX EvasionB
While on the field, enemies drop items more often.

Tewi has an invaluable special effect and very high HP growth, allowing her to relax back and act as a lucky charm. She also has a deceptively high spell attack growth, making her not totally helpless against stronger enemies. Unfortunately, all of this is hurt by her horrible X talent.

Reisen Udongein Inaba

Fugyouseki Reisen.png Reisen Udongein Inaba
Inventory size92 Cost per level2
Attack18 (12) M Movement3 Range2
Spell20 (13) M Spell Range4
Defense1 (1) Resist5 (4)
HP18 (15) TalentC EvasionD
Critical0%Throw 0%AoE14%Extra0%Counter0%

Unfortunately for Reisen, she is essentially a watered-down Patchouli, with a worse talent, only redirecting 4% into her AoE and with one additional HP growth. There is little reason to use her over Patchouli.

Eirin Yagokoro

Fugyouseki Eirin.png Eirin Yagokoro
Inventory size94 Cost per level1.5
Attack17 (7) P Movement2 Range
Spell19 (17) P Spell Range2
Defense1 (1) Resist4 (1)
HP16 (13) TalentA EvasionB
Critical0%Throw 10%AoE2%Extra2%Counter2%

While Eirin has the worst attack growth in the game, she can attack anywhere on the field, trivializing any boss stages that don't restrict ranged attacks. Given enough additional attack%, she can rapidly become incredibly useful.

Kaguya Houraisan

Fugyouseki Kaguya.png Kaguya Houraisan
Inventory size102 Cost per level2
Attack21 (15) P Movement2 Range1
Spell23 (17) M Spell Range2
Defense3 (1) Resist3 (3)
HP28 (18) TalentD EvasionB
While on the field, the countdown of treasure and sheep will stop.

Kaguya is one of the rare units that uses both physical and magical attacks, while also having very good attack growths- she is, essentially, a slower Reimu, with a worse talent. Her special effect can be useful in case a sheep or a chest is about to expire, and her high HP growth can allow her to stay for a very long time on the field. Portals are not affected by this special.

Fujiwara no Mokou

Fugyouseki Mokou.png Fujiwara no Mokou
Inventory size97 Cost per level2
Attack18 (13) M Movement4 Range1
Spell20 (14) M Spell Range3
Defense2 (1) Resist2 (1)
HP30 (23) TalentB EvasionA
Critical0%Throw 2%AoE0%Extra0%Counter14%

Mokou's B talent and good damage growth make her a good fighting unit. Her high counter chance is great, but her very high HP growth means she won't often be targeted.

Suika Ibuki

Fugyouseki Suika.png Suika Ibuki
Inventory size103 Cost per level2
Attack19 (16) P Movement3 Range1
Spell26 (19) P Spell Range2
Defense2 (1) Resist2 (1)
HP18 (17) TalentC EvasionB
While on the field, enemies and allies deal 25% increased damage.

Suika is a powerful unit, possessing the highest normal attack growth in the game- paired with her insane passive, she will easily be the most damaging unit in the roster. It's to be careful, though, as her special effect applies to everyone.

Original Characters

七音 琳華 (Rinka Shichine)

Fugyouseki Rinka.png Rinka Shichine
Inventory size97 Cost per level2
Attack17 (13) M Movement4 Range2
Spell19 (15) M Spell Range4
Defense1 (2) Resist4 (1)
HP19 (16) TalentD EvasionB
Critical4%Throw 0%AoE8%Extra4%Counter0%

Rinka has acceptable growths in all categories, but has a D talent. She is a sort of ranged version of Meiling, being a good unit, brought down by her bad talent.

不幻 夢々 (Mumu Fugen)

Fugyouseki Yumenoma.png Mumu Fugen
Inventory size90 Cost per level2.5
Attack21 (10) P Movement3 Range5
Spell25 (13) P Spell Range6
Defense1 (1) Resist2 (3)
HP22 (16) TalentD EvasionA
While on the field, allies take 20% less damage from the wind.

Mumu, like the Scarlet sisters, is very expensive to keep in the game. She has the same attack growth ratio as Sakuya, even sharing her same attack range. But unlike Sakuya, her special effect allows her to keep units alive for much longer, reducing the damage they take from the wind.
