Hey, can you do some more transcriptions for Moushuden? NForza 14:08, 27 July 2009 (UTC)

It'll probably be slow going, but now that someone's committed to translating them, I'll try to start doing some again. Anything in particular you want me to start with? glasnost0 19:04, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Nothing in particular, although I guess it would be nice to finish the main scenario soon. NForza 23:48, 27 July 2009 (UTC)
Can you put up some more subscenarios or something soon, please? NForza 04:22, September 20, 2009 (UTC)

Why would you want to shoot the guy who introduced commas into Japanese? TheTrueBlue 07:15, September 16, 2009 (UTC)

Because they aren't really necessary, and nobody really seems to know what to use them for. From what I can tell, the language went several hundred years without much in the way of punctuation at all, then they suddenly decided to integrate all the western punctuation at once. Question marks, at least, have a somewhat well-defined function in Japanese (though that function is not marking questions), but Japanese commas are used with precious little similarity to their English counterparts. Take, for instance, the sentence I was complaining about, "実際、弾幕と弾幕が干渉しあうようにすると、制御不能になって遊びとして成り立たなくなる恐れがあるのだが、流石狂気の妹、そんな事お構いなしである。" NForza translated that into three sentences from the original one, and you could probably make a case for splitting it up even further. What's more, you could replace some of the Japanese commas with periods and get a sentence that still made sense in Japanese, but didn't require punctuation juggling to translate. glasnost0 16:18, September 16, 2009 (UTC)
