TPW2

Hi miss transforming tanuki, do you have any idea of anybody who could help me out with this patch compatibility problem or these TPW2 wiki issues? If not, is there any helpful information you could provide me with?

Naï (talk) 18:09, 12 May 2014 (UTC)

Uhm I have no idea what's going on here. :O I don't have these games. Mamizou (talk) 04:42, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
Okay... changing topic, then, is it possible to change one's username? I'd like to change it to Naï, Nai or Naivety, in decrescent order of preference.
And explaining about TPW: is there anybody you know who knows game programming or Japanese who could either help me or give me any useful information? :x -- Naï (talk) 14:48, 13 May 2014 (UTC)
Looks like I have some fiddling I have to do, once I do that I'll change your username. Outside of that, you could ask on the IRC channel (#touhouwiki on irc.esper.net). There might be someone there, it's usually pretty quiet so it helps to idle awhile. :3 Mamizou (talk) 05:12, 14 May 2014 (UTC)
Alright, I appreciate the help. Turns out the coding was on Chinese instead of Japanese (blame me for not knowing the difference and thinking "wow so many kanji"): I might be able to handle it with Google Translate, but if there was anybody with any Chinese knowledge I'm sure they could be very helpful simply by being available for me to ask about this and that. I'll be sure to try the IRC channel ^-^. -- Naï (talk) 15:03, 14 May 2014 (UTC)

Boo

Mamizou-san, did you forget to change my username? You say you'd do it a while ago... D: // Naï (talk) 16:33, 22 May 2014 (UTC)

Sorry about that, I'm waiting for the next Mediawiki release (should be this week) which should fix some stuff up. Mamizou (talk) 17:26, 26 May 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for the name change <3 Naï (talk) 21:05, 2 June 2014 (UTC)

Mamizou-san, I know what to do with the Fantasy Ruins article.

Hey! I once created a page called "Fantasy Ruins". You deleted it because it was an unnecessary article. Now I know what to do with it! I have a "Touhou Nonsense Wiki". Give me the source for the Fantasy Ruins article, and I'll add it onto my wiki.

Here is the link to the wiki! Touhou Nonsense.Rednwhite (talk) 22:50, 23 May 2014 (UTC)

Mm. That sounds cool. What can I do to help? JustAMiko (talk) Owner of Reimu's Sanctuary of the Gods 22:50, 23 May 2014 (UTC)

German Touhou Wiki

Hey Mamizou! My Name is Arebs and i'm from the German Touhou Forum. I got some Question about the German Wiki, but because I have not found a contact for the German Wiki I need to ask someone here.

Currently, I'm the Administrator of the German Touhou Forum. Many of the old Members, which try to make Touhou popular in Germanys have fallen out, because the most of them were stubborn and had different ideas, which do not fit together. We, I and my team from the Touhou Forum, want to try that what the others have not done: make Touhou finally popular here in Germany. We have worked out a plan which contains a Rework of the German Wiki. First, I try to login with my old Account. But it was gone. Therefore I've made a new account here. But now I have another problem: We don't know anything about the owner of the German Wiki. Is the Wiki in your Hands? And if yes, is it possible to get a new local Administrator for the German wiki?

Thanks in advance and Greetings Arebs

P.S I hope you can read my English, it's not the best xD

Your English is just fine! Anyway:
  • If you know your old account I can merge your new one with your old one and get everything working again.
  • Yep the German wiki is still hosted with us, but there's no one 'owning' it, no current admins or bureaucrats or anything.
  • No one's touched the old German wiki in forever and I'd love to see it active again. If you'd like someone set as admin/bureaucrat of it let me know.
Let me know what I can do to help! Mamizou (talk) 09:16, 9 August 2014 (UTC)
Thanks for your answer and for your help!
My old Account got the same Name like the new too, Arebs, if you can merge them it would be great.
If you can set me as a local bureaucrat I can handle the other things for the German wiki. If I need to do something, to get your trust, just tell it to me.
--Arebs (talk) 10:05, 9 August 2014 (UTC)
I assume you registered on the German wiki when it was stand-alone for awhile; the user accounts on that weren't merged in with the mainline Touhou Wiki database. Anyway, I've promoted you to Bureaucrat of the German wiki; please check out the Group rights article for more info on what's required of staff members. Thanks and good luck! Mamizou (talk) 17:23, 9 August 2014 (UTC)

I require password assistance...

Hey, Mamizou-san? I can't seem to use the "Find my password" for my actual account and I can't edit on this one yet apart from this message, can you please reset my original password?? --User:HijirinMyourenBackup

Wait a sec, ignore that! I managed to get back in. Sorry for the pesterage, Mamizou-san! User:HijirinMyouren

That special English interview

Hello, have you received my IRC message regarding the special case of an English interview with ZUN? I hope we can discuss it further using email or MotK PM! User:Cuc

Why don't you just add the transcription yourself? There are already other interviews available, they should be a good guide for the format to follow. Keep in mind all edits to the wiki are under the CC-BY-SA license. Also I don't talk on MoTK. Mamizou (talk) 00:46, 21 September 2014 (UTC)
Problem is that the author requires us to attach a link to the book's Amazon page, turning the interview into an ad, which is unprecedented, so I requested your approval. The interview is of course not CC license. I'm considering posting it on MotK, and link to it from the wiki, since there are precedents for that.User:Cuc
Well, I personally don't see a problem if you're borrowing any external source and referencing it. Also, the requirement to attach a link to the book's webpage is conditional permission. I would just link to it via hyperlink or similar as to where the reference was copied or drawn from. See ZUN's AWA Q&A Panel. So something like "This transcript is adapted from "name of book + hyperlink."
Additional note: Many references on Wikipedia itself are drawn from scientific journals that require a subscription. Free sources are desired whenever possible, yes, but if necessary other helpful sources of information ought to be considered. - Kiefmaster99 (talk) 15:09, 21 September 2014 (UTC)
Linking to store pages is allowed too. I think I've figured out how to present the interview. Thanks!User:Cuc

Cirno Chiru would like to take over the German Touhou wiki

As the title already says, i would like to take over the german version of touhouwiki.
I'll try to translate and edit much and fit it to the current style of the english version, the german version of it looks yeah... more like the touhouwikia somehow.
That's why i would like to ask if i can join the team? *smiles*
Currently i'm working on Sukuna and Wakasagihime in the german wiki, if you like to look at these, I translate them directly from english to german.
Actually i have also another question, thats because of the character info boxes on the german wiki, maybe it should get a update, since they fall out of the raster. - User:Cirno_Chiru
Hi; I've promoted you to Admin/CU. After a probationary period I'll promote you to Bureaucrat. Just FYI, bureaucrats are required to idle on the Touhou Wiki IRC channel, in case something happens and real-time communication is required. Admins are not required to, but are recommended to do so. Let me know if you have any issues; thanks for helping and good luck! :3 Mamizou (talk) 23:30, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
I just realized, Arebs requested bureaucratship of the German wiki. I'd like you both to be admins until you both can coordinate who'd be what. Thanks. Mamizou (talk) 23:38, 28 December 2014 (UTC)
I´m thinking that we can share it together, since its a lot of work and a wide spreading area. But what about that Character Infobox layout? ^_^ Thank you for the trust and promotion in regards, i hope we work well together :) - User:Cirno_Chiru

Guess what's back up

Fantasy Ruins

That is all. I said "this is Chiyuri's idea, will grant a wish" and that's it. No digital assistant with online media as the original article said. Give me a fantastic prize! JustAMiko (talk) 23:24, 4 January 2015 (UTC)

About Len'en

Hi Mamizou :) There are a few things I'd like to ask about Len'en stuff. Firstly, is it possible to add the new Len'en Wiki "http://lenen.shoutwiki.com/wiki/Len%27en_Wiki" to the interwiki table under the prefix 'lenen'? Now that this wiki is slowly coming together, it'll be great to have this wiki linking to it officially. Now secondly, what about the Len'en content on this wiki? Of course, everyone doesn't want the content on this wiki, safe for Len'en Project itself and its games, so they'll need to be deleted ASAP. I've noticed already that all the character-related articles are up for deletion; are all sub-pages to game articles and most of Len'en images (such as spell cards and character images) also up for deletion? If you or others are busy and can't delete them or something like that, I don't mind going through them and deleting them if that's the case.

Also, I should say this while I'm at it: in case you're wondering about my view on this issue that time, I only did what I though would be best for other people who wanted to find Len'en content at the right place; I knew I couldn't continue my argument any longer as it was distressing even for me to go into deeper details to find support for Len'en, so I didn't reply to further comments and let things take its course. I tend to do that though, try and be as thorough as possible. Thanks the new wiki though, I've grown a lot to the idea and now think this was the best root after all. I hope that's understandable (funny how I change my point of view...^^;). Anyway, any reply will be appreciated regarding my two comments above, thank you :) Tony64 (Talk/Con.) 01:46, 29 May 2015 (UTC)

Reporting user for edit warring

Reporting user Nintenchris5963 (talk) for repeated edit warring and generally throwing a tantrum over said edit warring despite there being a talk page (Talk:Urban_Legend_in_Limbo/Characters) for this issue in which everyone seems to be in agreement against his choice in terms. As I mentioned on his own page, he has seen the ULiL/Chars talk page, but inexplicably avoids discussing it in favor of just pushing through his own edits and reverting others' whenever possible. This is reminiscent of similar behaviour he's done in the past (as I show in the ULiL/Chars talk), which you have given him a warning for before. Drake Irving (talk) 04:20, 31 May 2015 (UTC)

I couldn't help it

The edit war was stopped a few days ago, and Tony64 was the one continuing the edit war just now. Sure I'm trying to change the way I liked, but I couldn't help myself from doing so. Nintenchris5963 (talk)

Please delete my image

I would like you to delete this image I uploaded last month. Nintenchris5963 (talk)

Done. Mamizou (talk) 02:13, 17 July 2015 (UTC)
So when are you going to delete the Len'en pages marked for deletion? It's been over 2 months since they were scheduled to be deleted. Tony64 (Talk/Con.) 22:38, 18 July 2015 (UTC)

Talk:Urban Legend in Limbo/Characters

I chose to stop the edit war and start discussing on the talk page, but people don't want me to discuss and I'm already feeling like I'm a total jerk for all eternity. I'm starting to act nice and not throwing a tantrum on people, but they kept talking about the past. Can you please do something about those people? Nintenchris5963 (talk)

I copied over some modules, let me know if you need more.
If you're interested in taking over administration of the Korean wiki, please let me know!
Mamizou (talk) 21:18, 14 February 2016 (UTC)
Thank you for your help! :D
I'm interested in maintenance for Wiki, but I'm not sure if I will do well. Though I'm planning to do it, if you need me. Thanks. --Garam (talk) 10:24, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

Let me ask you another request. I hope to add the "동방위키:" (東方 + Wiki in Korean language) as the value of $wgSitename ("Touhou Wiki:" as namespace) in php setting, like the "东方维基:" in Chinese Touhou Wiki. Will it be possible? Thanks. --Garam (talk) 11:06, 15 February 2016 (UTC)

That'll be nice, but there's one thing I want to say: I think it should be "동방 위키" or "동방 프로젝트 위키", for the sake of spacing. Mario1star (talk) 12:09, 15 February 2016 (UTC)
  • Note:
동방 위키 (Dongbang-wiki) = 동방 + 위키
동방 프로젝트 위키 (Dongbang-peurojekteu-wiki) = 동방 + 프로젝트 + 위키
But, many korean language wiki using MediaWiki (and many Korean language wiki using other wiki software) isn't space out in words. Thanks. --Garam (talk) 13:49, 15 February 2016 (UTC)
Thanks for sharing your point. However, after looking at the list of wikis you provided, I came to a conclusion that most of the wikis' titles aren't spaced out in words because they serve as mere titles and do not directly refer to specific content. 나무위키, 구스위키, and 오리위키 are examples of wikis whose titles don't refer to specific contents since they serve as a hub for contents with many different topics. Many wikis that mainly cover a specific content do have spaced titles. For example, 포켓몬 위키, which is a Korean language wiki dedicated to the media franchise Pokémon, is spaced out.
This is just my speculation, though. Feel free to correct me. Mario1star (talk) 14:21, 15 February 2016 (UTC)
Source: National Institute of the Korean Language
See the quotes above. "Touhou" and "Wiki" is the common terms, isn't technical terms. So, it isn't space out in words I think. Thanks. --Garam (talk) 15:31, 17 February 2016 (UTC)
Well, it appears that "동방위키" should be the title, then. I retract my opinion. Thank you for debating with me. Mario1star (talk) 14:22, 18 February 2016 (UTC)
I set such as the site name. Mamizou (talk) 04:11, 3 March 2016 (UTC)

Excuse me. I'd like to ask you another question about some matter of Korean Touhou WIki. In Korean Touhou Wiki, unlike other language Touhou Wiki, red Taiji icon and text of subheading overlap, as you can see this link. Please, would you tell me what to do in this case? Thanks. --Garam (talk) 10:56, 2 March 2016 (UTC)

I'm not too sure; the contents of Common.css might be old compared to what's used elsewhere, like the English wiki. You can try copying over the contents of that file here to there and seeing if that works. Mamizou (talk) 04:04, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
Umm, maybe I thought I'd solve it. So, could you give me the rights as temporary administrative to do it, about this and and a few other technical matter in Korean Touhou Wiki. Thanks. --Garam (talk) 08:09, 3 March 2016 (UTC)
All set; please look over Touhou_Wiki:Administrators and Help:Group rights, thanks! Mamizou (talk) 00:19, 4 March 2016 (UTC)
Thank you so much! Lastly, would you please remove all evidence of the ko:mediawiki:Mainpage-text (that I created by mistake)? Thanks. --Garam (talk) 09:09, 4 March 2016 (UTC)
You already deleted it, that's all that can be done. Mamizou (talk) 19:46, 5 March 2016 (UTC)

Audio samples for circle pages

I wanted to know what you considered to be the acceptable number of audio samples for a circle page? So far I've only used one audio sample per page (1-1.5mb on average) but I don't feel that's really enough for groups with longer running discographies or a greater verity in their arrangement style. I think that 2 is sufficient but 3 is preferable, I didn't want to set a bad president so I'm asking before I change from 1 per circle page. I thought about asking the irc but I wasn't sure if that was the right place, sorry if this isn't the right place to ask either.

2-3 should be fine. Mamizou (talk) 18:08, 1 May 2016 (UTC)

EmbedVideo extension update request

Need urgent update as latest version fixed some of the weird bug happened in MikuMikuDance article. - KyoriAsh (talk) 17:34, 27 June 2016 (UTC)

I updated it; when the videos are collapsed they're all bunched up in the footer of the page. Is this what you were seeing? Also, that page is laggy even on my own desktop. Mamizou (talk) 03:27, 28 June 2016 (UTC)

Vietnamese Touhou Wiki

Good day Touhou Wiki. I am here on behalf of GensokyoVN, a community of Vietnamese Touhou fans (there are many fan groups as Vietnam, and it looks like we cant go on the same way, anyway). We has been conducting translation and compilation of a Touhou wiki in Vietnamese for a year, before get enough brave to go here and ask for a site. I would like to ask whether we could have a wiki site for our language, and the prequisite for doing so. Thank you in advance (And pardon my English, too). Edit: Adding time and name - Lauqerm (talk) 23:49, 12 July 2016 (UTC)

Not a problem, let me start setting it up. Mamizou (talk) 05:36, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
The new wiki has been created but is currently blank; you may use your existing wiki's export functionality to move the articles over. Please let me know what you'd like the proper name and wiki logo to be for the wiki ('Touhou Wiki' in Vietnamese?). Mamizou (talk) 05:58, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
[Edit] I just realized that you haven't been running Mediawiki; you'll probably need to reimplement your wiki styles and colors on the new wiki, but the articles themselves should be easy. I'll start by moving over some necessary templates to the new wiki. Mamizou (talk) 06:54, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
Thank you very much for letting us create this wiki page. We shall begin filling out the pages right away, and as we get used to the working environment we would be honored if you could stay with us for a while. Once again thank you so much. Ronglun227 (talk). Edit: About the logo picture, we decided that this will be our logo: http://i.imgur.com/w3bwJDm.png , regarding of the name, "Touhou Wiki - Việt Nam" itself would be nice. One more question, are we able to start our pages now or do we neeed to do some additional modifications? 13:10 13 July 2016 (UTC)
Hi, Ronglun227, you may begin to edit your Vietnamese Touhou Wiki, as it was already set up. Kindly inform us if you have any problem regarding Wiki Editing, have fun - KyoriAsh (talk) 15:37, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
I just set the logo. Also we're still in the process of setting up base templates and modules for the site, so things might not quite work completely until we're finished. But in the mean time you can start creating articles on the site. Good luck! Mamizou (talk) 16:28, 13 July 2016 (UTC)
Excuse me, the uploading tool on the Vietnamese Wiki redirects to onsen.touhouwiki.net, not vi.touhouwiki.net. Is it okay? And, please pardon my English. - Another Oni (talk) 00:10, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
Onsen is our touhouwiki's common file wiki, similar to Wikipedia's Wiki Common. Whatever you uploaded to the wiki will be automatically shared to every language of Touhouwiki. I suggested that unless is necessary, please use our uploaded images. For the link you may refer to en wiki version. - KyoriAsh (talk) 02:44, 14 July 2016 (UTC)
Just FYI, you all should join the IRC channel so we can communicate faster. The IRC server is at irc.esper.net, channel is #touhouwiki. You can access the webchat interface here, or you can use a full IRC client. Thanks! Mamizou (talk) 03:08, 14 July 2016 (UTC)

Category issue

I don't mean to pester you but have you looked into the category issue I outline in response to your post on my talk page, I gave some examples if you didn't notice my reply. Ycdtosa (talk) 17:01, 21 July 2016 (UTC)

Just a few questions...

Hello, it's Ronglun here again :P, I just have some questions, pardon my english, thanks :D

First, A few days ago my friend requested an account named petayuuchan and yet, she hasn't receiced the password, can you please help her with it? Second, about the irc channel, is there anyway to read the archived messages? Cause whenever I log out, I can't read the messages that had been posted before I logged in again.

Please answer my questions, thank you very very much.

Her account request came up on the Vietnamese wiki, and I had to look there to do it. She should have her email now.
Also as for IRC, no, you have to stay logged in to it to see past messages, which I recommend if you're an admin. Mamizou (talk) 16:05, 28 July 2016 (UTC)

Extension for Vietnamese Wiki

Hello, we are currently working to create a more easy-to-maintain and easy-to-update system for our Vietnamese Wiki, and for that we would like to install the following 4 Mediawiki extensions:

Semantic MediaWiki

Semantic Forms

Semantic Forms Inputs

Semantic Result Formats

We will be very grateful if someone could install them for us. Thank you very much. - Another Oni (talk) 15:30, 10 September 2016 (UTC)

SMW is a massive and overbearing addition to Mediawiki; we've tried it before and it ended up choking things up. I can work on setting it up but I'll also need to ensure it doesn't hang up the site again. Mamizou (talk) 22:23, 10 September 2016 (UTC)
We apologise for asking for a difficult request, and we also thank you for helping us. If you find that installing those extensions could choke the whole wiki up, then please skip it. - Another Oni (talk) 01:34, 11 September 2016 (UTC)
I'll see what I can do. :3 Mamizou (talk) 04:12, 11 September 2016 (UTC)

Adventures in Inferno

Hi there, I created this new page on a whim, but after looking around I think I named the page wrong? Rather than "東方奇界泉 ~ Adventures in Inferno", it should just be "Adventures in Inferno", right? Also, I can't get the page to show this image. I remember having this sort of problem a long time ago, but I can't remember how to get it to work now. ^^;; Flan27 (talk) 02:44, 11 December 2016 (UTC)

Please delete this image

Can you please delete this image right here? I want to upload the one with the real album number.

Technical question

Excuse me. Do you know how to remove the top-level heading in the article "main page"? In the past I was created by mistake the article Mediawiki:Mainpage-nstab of Korean Touhou Wiki, and I deleted it later. But the header of the article "main page" (literally "대문" in Korean language) still displayed. Maybe I think I can't straighten out this problem, because I don't have technical rights. So I need your help to find the solutions. Thanks. --Garam (talk) 05:40, 28 December 2016 (UTC)

Some questions about deleting unused doujin music images

So what I would like is the ability to delete images since I find myself restrained by not knowing the catalog numbers of most albums leading up to events, I understand it might presumptuous of me to ask but I think I've contributed enough to show I won't misuse it. But more than just asking for it I want to know if it would actually be useful for old images to be deleted, I don't know the ins and outs of it but we share images with a number of other language wikis, so would deleting unused images here effect them? In practice I would use the ability to upload images knowing I could delete them in favor of the correct naming format later, but I'd prefer just uploading with the album title and uploading again down the line if I find the catalog number.

I guess what I really want is some clear guidance on doujin album related image uploads. I had decided to just leave the album covers out altogether for a couple of pages but that seems unreasonable. Ycdtosa (talk) 04:36, 29 December 2016 (UTC)

Editing privileges

Hi, I was wondering if there's any possibility I could get editing privileges, primarily so I can delete pages and edit protected articles that are out of my right. It's not to be presumptuous but I want to help this wiki in the best I can without having to come across some barrier and be unable to do anything. Thanks beforehand and regards!. --Camilo113 (talk) 22:21, 11 May 2017 (UTC)
