Forums?

Yes I know, I am leaving this on my own page. Why? Because I am to shy to leave it elsewhere. Should anyone see this, could they tell me whether there any forums on this site? Obviously, discussing fanmade characters on a normal page is inappropriate, and prohibited.

Depends on what you want to discuss. If you're wondering about whether certain things can be on a fan-made character page, you can leave a note on the character's talk page. (Or for about fan-made characters in general, this talk page.) Otherwise, you would have to look elsewhere, since this wiki doesn't have a forum. (Some Touhou-related forums are listed here; feel free to browse through them.) Ibaraki Ibuki (talk) 22:52, 12 June 2012 (UTC)
Thank you. I was thinking about my own Original Characters, although that might not work now that I think about it...

Thank you anyway. 16:32, 13 June 2012 (UTC)

You're welcome.
If you want to talk about your own characters here, feel free to do so on your user page (or on this page, whatever is more comfortable with you). Ibaraki Ibuki (talk) 15:37, 13 June 2012 (UTC)
Well, thank you once again.^^ Risanderu Yumikozuki (talk) 18:19, 13 June 2012 (UTC)

Hope you don't mind if I bother you once more. If you're interested in getting comments and feedback on your work, I'd like to suggest a few forums that you might like to visit. (All of these sites do have sections devoted to fanfic if you're curious.)

Go ahead and have fun. Ibaraki Ibuki (talk) 18:06, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Nononononono! By all means, talk to me if you desire! I have been slightly lonely...nevertheless, thank you for the advice. Though somewhat uneccesary, you do so as well. ^^
That is, because I am certain you are. Risanderu Yumikozuki (talk) 22:25, 20 June 2012 (UTC)

Post Scriptum: Could you enlighten me on how to leave these User codes correctly?

You talking about signatures? Just use ~~~~ and it will do it automatically for you; you can change it to whatever you want under "My Preferences" (around upper right corner). Ibaraki Ibuki (talk) 00:11, 22 June 2012 (UTC)

Re: Subterranean Hatred translated translation pages?

I didn't say that fangames can't be translated. I'm just saying that you should need to remember that you're the one who's asking. Just like you've mentioned by yourself:

It merely bothers me that no one cared to let others who doesn't know that much Japanese understand what's going on

Indeed, not very much people in this wiki have the skill to comprehend Japanese to the point where they can make a decent translation in English. That's the reason why so many pages are still left untranslated - the demand is outnumbering the supply. As you can see in the Community portal, the translators got tons of work to do (even some of the canon-game pages aren't finished yet), and like I said earlier, you shouldn't really complain about what page is not yet translated or anything (I can understand your frustration, and taking hands on every single page would be ideal, but we are have real life to live you know). Finally, to put it short, what I wanted to say was: "Can't you at least be polite and say please?" and maybe you had a better chance to catch a translator who's interested to do the work instead of starting to cause unproductive quarrel like this. Well, that's all I had to say, and in the meantime, I hope you get a translator to fulfil your request (I'm sorry to say that I'm not interested in translating SH... I already have plenty of works in progress anyway)--Doncot (talk) 11:44, 22 October 2012 (EDT)

Hello there, I used to translate some fangame scripts as well as few official games (mostly Seihou) in the past. My translations have been on hiatus for a while at first because of work at the Korean wiki but now I'm getting even less time to work on the wiki itself. However, your comment on Momiji's page sparked my interest in the script and I might come back to translate some parts of the script. And yeah, my Japanese isn't that good to make a perfect Japanese-to-English translation, so it'd be better if there was a second translator who can proofread through the translations and make any corrections as necessary.
As for your question of why Subterranean Hatred is untranslated... well, maybe we should address the question of why there are some untranslated scripts in this wiki. Well, a lot of the translators on this wiki seem to have gotten busier lately and that's why you don't see that much translation activity going on. Once I'm done with some final touch on translations on the Korean wiki I'd be happy to work on the script for whatever time I can get to work on the wiki. DeltaSierra4 (talk) 12:58, 22 October 2012 (EDT)

Moving forward, it may help to first copy the article you're trying to translate into your userspace, and then working on your translation there first. That way you can gather input on the translation process before submitting the finished work to the live article page. Momiji (talk) 16:34, 22 October 2012 (EDT)
Good idea. Sweet, I'll use my (now-dead) transcription pages for the translations :) DeltaSierra4 (talk) 17:59, 22 October 2012 (EDT)
Well, certainly seems it will finally have some sense to it. :)
Good luck. Risanderu Yumikozuki (talk) 09:49, 23 October 2012 (EDT)

I recently evaluated a script to create some statistics that may be of value to you at Talk:Fangames#Language_statistics. From there, you can see the progress of our translators and our patch developers. --Sbluen (talk) 20:00, 28 October 2012 (EDT)

MPP review

Hi! ^_^
I wonder if you mind this topic.
Anyway, I'd like to ask you if you can take a look at those two remaining endings for MPP (good ones for Marisa and Sanae). I'm short on free time so I have to release a patch within next several days. I have a feeling that Flan27 won't appear here before that so I'd like you to ask to take a look at them in his stead, Arknarok thinks that his recent review pass requires some "fixes" in sense of used English. Necrotek (talk) 19:45, 2 November 2013 (UTC)

It is done.^^Risanderu Yumikozuki (talk) 20:16, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
Yay, thank you! Necrotek (talk) 20:18, 2 November 2013 (UTC)
You are most welcome. Best of fortune be with you still!

Len'en or something

Hey, I wanna say thanks for working on the translations here and there. It's really nice to have a team going at it, right? It's great to have you along. Flan27 (talk) 18:14, 9 December 2013 (UTC)

Thank you very much for your appreciation~

If you want to add screenshots of spellcards, then when you click to "Screenshot" link for the specific spellcard, change URL from http://pool.touhouwiki.net/index.php/Special:Upload?wpDestFile=Something.jpg to http://en.touhouwiki.net/index.php/Special:Upload?wpDestFile=Something.jpg. If during uploading it says that the image already exists (which will definitely happens for the first spellcard you tried), mark the checkbox "Ignore any warnings" and try again. This mechanics for file uploading is really annoying, I had a lot of troubles with it before until I got how to handle it. Necrotek (talk) 13:45, 22 March 2014 (UTC)

Thank you very much.^^;

I'm having issues with Preview and sizes. I'm sorry about that.ˆˆ;
I am Risa. Best of fortune be with you. (talk) 15:32, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
Yep, I noticed that :) If you want, I can upload them in your stead. Just make a good screenshot of all spellcards without cutting anything and upload the pack somewhere, I'll do the remaining myself (but keep screen position the same so I could crop them semi automatically). It'd be good if you make them while the game in windowed mode so the images will have native (not scaled) resolution. Necrotek (talk) 15:37, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
I accidentally discovered the wonders of the "crop" function.*facepalm*
Does it look good? ˆˆ; Also, thank you for the offer.

Yeah, now it's quite good :) Necrotek (talk) 16:43, 22 March 2014 (UTC)
Great. Thank you very much~ ˆˆ

Spell Card Images

Hey, it looks like you're uploading some spell card images for fan games, awesome. As far as Ido's games go, I started with TLC, and didn't get any farther than starting, so it's in a bit of an awkward position right now. But anyways, it really can be fun to take screenshots and get one you really like, right? That's pretty much how I started out here at the wiki, taking spell card images. Although now that I'm so active in translating, it's hard to do two big things at once, so I haven't done it recently.

And so it's great to see you active with it! I think it really helps to flesh out a game's articles a lot. You're doing a good job so far, but I would like to show you to the rules here. There are a lot of simple things that are good to be aware of. Of course, for fan games like this, it's still better to have any image at all over having none, but a lot of the rules are simple to follow anyways so we might as well go with them. Anyhow, I'll say once again that I'm glad you're interested in these games and all this. Flan27 (talk) 01:20, 7 April 2014 (UTC)

Thanks. It's too bad I wasn't aware of the rules before, as I violated two of the rules(Spell Practice and English)
Should I continue? Again, thanks.:P
I am Risa. Best of fortune be with you. (talk) 17:50, 7 April 2014 (UTC)
Besides what you mentioned, another rule is to always use Reimu, or in this case the Reimu team. Looking at the IN pages, there are a lot of screenshots with Yukari, so in MPP screenshots with Utsuho should also be fine. But if you just use whatever character you want then that's another variable that takes the focus away from the danmaku, you know? Another thing is about cropping the image, since it seems like you were a bit inconsistent. But anyways, by mentioning all these things I'm scared of sounding bossy or something. Really, if someone wanted to be really picky about all this they can upload their own images. It would be great for you to continue, and just be aware of the rules. Flan27 (talk) 00:06, 8 April 2014 (UTC)
Okay then. I'll make sure to do so for the future screenshots:P
I try to keep the entire playwindow in, that might be why.^^; Sorry about that.
I am Risa. Best of fortune be with you. (talk) 15:09, 8 April 2014 (UTC)
The usual size of the play window is 384 by 448 pixels, just so you know. If you look around the screenshots from other games they're all either that or half of that, since some are downsized. Flan27 (talk) 05:43, 9 April 2014 (UTC)
And by that I meant with the addition of frames.:P
I'll cut the frames too if needed.
I am Risa. Best of fortune be with you. (talk) 13:40, 9 April 2014 (UTC)
By frames do you means the outside part of the screen outside the play window? Sorry, I'm a little confused with terminology. Anyways, if you crop a 384 by 448 image, you should get the whole play window and nothing but the play window. Flan27 (talk) 09:39, 10 April 2014 (UTC)
Most fanmade shooters has three portions: the stage, the status and the frame around the stage.^^;
I'm a bit too tired to explain properly but you'll see the frames if you click on a picture I think.

Regarding the "typo" in PMiSS

Hi,

just checked the phrase again, and I think both is correct It depends if you see them as one thing (the two) or each one as inidividual abilty

You would have to phrase it specifically for that purpose then.ˆˆ;

ULiL Images

Hi there! :) May I just ask, how did you get the ULiL image for Kasen? Did you use a special tool to extract the image from the game's data? I'm interested because Reimu and Marisa's image still needs to be uploaded, and I do want to know if it's yet possible to extract the data to see if there's more images needed to be uploaded. Please do let us know, cheers :) Tony64 (Talk/Con.) 20:25, 21 January 2015 (UTC)

Hello! I simply searched the Internet until I happened upon an uploaded extracted image of Kasen. Googling may yield results, but it will likely take some time. Kasen's portrait can be found rather immediately in the pictures search, but the others don't seem to be common. I'm sorry for not being of particular help. ^_^;

No need to be sorry, as long as I know :) Tony64 (Talk/Con.) 01:39, 22 January 2015 (UTC)
Ah, very well. I'm glad I could be of help in that regard then.^_^

Sumireko's age

Regarding Sumireko's age in the infobox, are you sure that it should be 16-17? I was going off of this chart, which says that 15-16 is year 1 of senior high in Japan. Now of course, I've never experienced education in Japan so I might be misinterpreting it. --MagicNineball (talk) 18:24, 13 May 2015 (UTC)

Re: Sumireko's age

The link you posted also says that senior high starts at 15 years of age, ("Senior High School (age 15-18)"). So that means that students in their first year will be 15 or 16 (if they have a birthday during the year).

The quote from ULiL, assuming the wiki's translation is accurate, is "I'm Sumireko Usami, first-year student at Higashifukami High."

So I'm still not sure why it should be 16-17. --MagicNineball (talk) 20:14, 13 May 2015 (UTC)
