Stage Portion[edit]

Survival[edit]

Easy/Normal[edit]

This stage is never overwhelming. This is a good place to practice Spirit Item collection.
The smaller fairies in this stage will only ever shoot aimed bullets. Be very wary of the last three fairies which shoot yellow bullets, as their trajectory will change when they reach the lower 10% of the screen.

You will find 5 Spirit Items before the midboss, assuming you take out every enemy. One of them is a Power Fish, and the others are Beast Spirits. It's heavily advised to hold off on taking the Power Fish until after beating the midboss and collecting its Rare Beast Spirit. If you want to collect the Rare Beast Spirit, doing so is nigh impossible whilst in a Berserk Roaring Mode (especially if you've collected Eagle Spirits).

Secret[edit]

The level's secret Rare Beast Spirit is Jellyfish. It is rewarded for not killing any ghost during the midboss.
Once consumed in a Roaring Mode, Jellyfish will change the Roaring Mode timeout rewards to:

  • 1 Life Fish;
  • 4 Beast Spirits.

Overall, it's heavily advised to go for this secret during a run.
Assuming your attack pattern isn't too large, getting Jellyfish to appear should be easy and is definitely worth the (minimal) effort.

Boss Fight[edit]

Survival[edit]

Easy/Normal[edit]

A Berserk Roaring Mode started during the pre-fight conversation will usually last you the whole fight — not that you're likely to need it.
You can also practice Spirit Item collection during non-spells, and don't forget not to run into a stationary bullet during Spell #2.

The first non-spell is simply two lines of heavily-spaced bullets. The second is a constant barrage of heavily-spaced bullets, which might be harder to navigate.
Overall, you should easily be able to capture both spells.

Staying under the boss and shooting should end the Card before even one bullet can reach you.

Move vertically to dodge the couple bullets which will pass you by.

Again, movement is mostly vertical. You can also go atop the conifers for safer dodging — assuming you have homing bullets at your disposal.

Dodging above the conifers is highly recommended. The very bottom of the screen is also slightly safer than the middle since bullets moving downwards will mostly despawn offscreen.

Don't be fooled thinking bullets are just passing you by. Don't run into a stationary bullet and stay in the safe corridors.

There are two strategies: either stay at the bottom of the screen and dodge inside the corridors, or stay next to the boss, higher than the stationary bullets (riskier).

Same as for Normal, except the second strategy is even riskier.

Second strategy requires extreme reaction times. Stay at the bottom, and avoid moving horizontally too much to create simpler corridors.
